The F1000 Pro Series was formed on December 2nd 2009, following a historic agreement among nine F1000 manufacturers and five SCCA Regions. Working with officials from SCCA’s Northwest Region, Oregon Region, San Francisco Region, Cal Club Region and Arizona Region, a new pro series for the burgeoning F1000 (FB) Club car class has been created. The nine F1000 manufacturers, including Phoenix Race Works, Stohr Cars, Speads Rill Tech, Edge Engineering, Philadelphia Motorsports, Citation, Piper Race Cars, Nova Race Cars and Firman West Cars have teamed up with the select SCCA regions to provide comprehensive backing for this new series. Series organizers hope to encourage new participant growth throughout the Northern and Southern Pacific regions through exposure to this exciting new F1000 class and as a result, improve FB car counts nationwide.
The new F1000 Pro-Series format will consist of 13 SCCA sanctioned championship events over 8 venues & the Finale Race at the National Runoffs at Road America. Racers will compete for championship points based on in-class finishing positions with a split start lineup for all National events where the series will compete.
F1000 Pro-Series technical advisement will be provided by George Dean Racing Engines based out of Seattle, Washington.
This premiere SCCA national class consists of purpose-built high-performance Formula F1000 race cars & F2000 conversion race cars powered by 1000cc motorcycle engines with top speeds in excess of 150 MPH. This will provide a new competitive open wheel racing class.
To further enhance the exposure of the F1000 series, talks have commenced to create an alliance with the existing National F1000 Championship Series [www.Formula1000.com] to showcase a partnered run-offs race event at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in September 2010.
